Spalted Beech Vase Height: 700mm Weighing over quarter of a ton before turning, this very highly figured piece is totally unique. Sourced locally in North Wales, the natural spalting process in this timber creates contrasting patterns and striking black lines. |

Yew Vase Height: 600mm This tall vessel was hollowed out from a large section of Yew tree. Seasoned for several years before turning, the timber features the characteristic orange and purple colouring with white sap wood. Yew trees can reach 3,000 to 4,000 years of age. This particular tree had a protection order and grew next to the old Menai Bridge to Anglesey. The roots were damaged by a large building contractor, who subsequently incurred a fine. |
